Nothing we can read.
Techno-Book and TechnoHuman Player are built so your information stays with you. This page explains exactly what leaves your device, and when.
TechnoHuman Player
The player plays files from your own device. It doesn't upload, stream, scan or report anything. The web version runs entirely in your browser. The desktop app converts unusual formats on your own computer. The only thing the desktop app asks the internet for is our latest version number, when it starts and once a day, so it can tell you about updates. That request carries nothing about you or your files (like any web request, our host sees your IP address). You can turn it off in the player's Help.
Techno-Book
On your device
Everything you enter (appointments, medications and doses, birthdays, tasks, notes, journal, contacts) is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it's saved. The key comes from your passphrase through Argon2id and never leaves your device. We can't read your Techno-Book, and we can't recover it if you lose both your passphrase and recovery code.
If you turn on sync
Changes are encrypted on your device, then passed through our relay to your other devices. The relay stores only that encrypted data, a random vault ID and a check value that proves your devices belong together. It has no key and can't read your data.
If you turn on phone push or email alerts
To alert you while the app is closed, your device sends the relay each upcoming alert's time and the text it will show. With discreet display on (the default for medications), that text is generic, like “Scheduled Routine”. For email alerts we also keep your email address, verified with a one-time code. Turn alerts off in Settings and the relay deletes them. Each email has a one-click stop link. Push alerts travel through your browser's push service (from Google, Apple or Mozilla).
If you use the desktop app
It asks us for the latest version number when it starts and once a day, so it can tell you when an update is out. That request carries nothing from your Techno-Book (like any web request, our host sees your IP address).
If you search for a business
Only your search words, plus your rough location if you tick “Near me”, are sent to Google Places to find results. Nothing else from your Techno-Book is included. Google's privacy policy applies to that search.
If you turn on the AI assistant
It's off by default. When on, only questions Mrs. Computer can't answer by herself are sent to the AI service, one at a time, without the rest of your Techno-Book.
This website
apps.radioheadmedia.com has no ads, trackers or analytics cookies. Like any web server, our host receives basic technical information such as your IP address when your browser requests a page.
Health information
Techno-Book helps you keep track of what your doctor or pharmacist told you. It isn't medical advice and doesn't replace them.
Children
The apps aren't aimed at children under 13.
